Confessions in times of war: Hanadi Dagher

17/10/2024

Where are our cultural players in times of war, and what are they doing?

L'Agenda Culturel went to meet them, interview them and listen to their stories.

Hanadi Dagher, Founder of the Beauty and Wellbeing Forum and founder of HD public relations. Lives in Lebanon

How are you doing?

I'm doing my best to stay grounded, focusing on maintaining a balance between mental and physical wellbeing during these challenging times, while also taking care of my family and staying connected with my loved ones.

What is your daily life like in a time of war?

I’m navigating the situation one step at a time, focusing on my own wellbeing and that of my family. I try to keep a sense of routine for the children and ensure we all stay as safe as possible. At the same time, I maintain my professional commitments, making sure to stay connected with clients.

How do you continue your artistic activity?

More than ever. Engaging in art is essential for my mental health and offers a sense of relief. It’s also a way for me to connect with clients and supporters, keeping the creative energy alive even during tough times.

How do you see Lebanon's future?

Despite the hardships, I believe in Lebanon’s resilience. With every challenge comes the opportunity to rise and become stronger. I see hope for a brighter future, and together, we can rebuild and emerge even more united after this war.

To overcome the fear and anxiety, what do you suggest to our readers?

Focus on maintaining a sense of wellbeing—both for yourself and your family. Limit exposure to distressing news, as too much can overwhelm you. Instead, stay informed responsibly, and engage in activities that keep your spirits up, like reading, spending time with your children, and staying connected with those who matter.

In this context, the Beauty and Wellbeing Forum has launched a major campaign aimed at all those affected by the war, offering them a platform to be heard and receive necessary psychological support through a large team of experts who have dedicated their time and effort to provide assistance during this critical national moment. The Forum has also established a hotline 81095600 for anyone in need of someone to listen or provide psychological support.

Books:

Books that focus on personal growth, self-care, or even stories that bring comfort and escape are helpful.

Series:

Opt for something light-hearted or inspiring, especially if you’re watching with family to ease the tension.

Music:

Listen to calming music that help keep a positive energy in your home.

Podcasts:

Podcasts about mindfulness, mental health, or resilience can offer guidance during challenging times.

Any last words?

I, as a founder of the Beauty and Wellbeing Forum, am determined to keep Lebanon on the world map of events and I am pleased to announce that the second edition of the Beauty and Wellbeing Forum for 2025 will be held in Beirut next April, as well as in both Kuwait and Qatar—an important milestone that reflects the expansion and spread of this culture and Lebanese creativity throughout the Arab world and beyond.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Prioritize your wellbeing and stay hopeful—we will rise stronger from this.
