BEIRUT ART DAYS: AN EVENT TO UNITE LEBANON

THROUGH ART, MUSIC AND CULTURE THIS JULY

In a country that has been struggling with a sequence of crises for over 5 years now, the art & culture scene thrives more than ever. “It is the beating heart of our country,” say l’Agenda Culturel and Beirut Art Days Committee, who have just announced that the first edition of Beirut Art Days will take place over 4 days from July 3 to July 6, 2024, and will span the entire country.

WHAT IS “BEIRUT ART DAYS”?

Myriam Shuman, Director of l’Agenda Culturel, explains: ‘From 3 to 6 July 2024, our country will be beating to the rhythm of art and culture.

Galleries, museums, theatres and cultural venues across Lebanon will be offering, in their own premises, a diversity of art and culture experiences such as exhibition visits, performances, screenings, discoveries of private collections, lectures, concerts, debates, art tours, artist talks, and much more.”

According to l’Agenda Culturel, there are 90 galleries and art foundations in Lebanon, as well as 110 cultural venues and 102 museums. These venues have been challenging the circumstances and producing almost 2,000 events and shows a year, in a powerful act of resilience that needs to be acclaimed today.

“There will be more than 60 art & culture players and more than 90 addresses in this first edition of Beirut Art Days,” confirms Shuman. “And they have been keen on designing unique cultural programs to celebrate this event.

It is a message to the world that Beirut will always be a city of beauty and creativity, and that art will always remain our biggest capital.”
