The Transformation of a 400-year old 24-room Courthouse and Prison that used to belong to the Talhouk Family, the feudal lord family that ruled over the western region of Mount Lebanon during the Ottoman Empire…into a Cultural Center-the Sami Makarem Cultural Center.  This center encompasses the Makarems Art Museum, showcasing the artistic calligraphic masterpieces of both Sheikh Nassib Makarem and Dr. Sami Makarem, in addition to 3 cozy libraries, that make up the Sami Makarem Library.
