For this event, the institute is hosting Rayyane Tabet who will discuss strategies of research, production, display and the entanglement
relationship between abstraction and political imaginary through an in depth look at three of his seminal works: Steel Rings, The Dead Sea
in Three Parts, and Arabesque. Rayyane’s artist talk will be followed by Dr. Kirsten Scheid’s book launch: Fantasmic Objects, Art and Sociality from Lebanon, 1920-1950.
