OBJECTIVE

This program aims to elevate the skills of participants by providing them with the tools they need to professionally enter the music industry, create and market music, and enhance their knowledge of the studio environment. It is also ideal for music enthusiasts and hobbyists looking to develop their skills. The program entails hands-on practical courses in Music Theory, giving participants the knowledge they need to compose and arrange musical pieces. In tandem, a three-day live course at JMR’s state-of-the-art studios will allow participants to get acclimated to a proper studio environment where they will learn to record, mix, and master their music. The program accommodates students with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds, ranging from novices who have never been in a studio before, to those who already own and run their own studios.

By the end of the program, participants will have the knowledge, skills and confidence to create, record, mix, master, and distribute their music on a professional level.

PROGRAM STUCTURE

Module 1 : Music Theory and Composition (3 days) | 26-27-28 April 2021

Module 2 : Live in the Studio (3 days) | 19-20-21 May 2021 

Module 3 : Digital Music Business (2 days)  | 17-18 June 2021

To successfully complete the course, students will be required to produce a piece of music based on the melodic line given to them at the beginning of the program.
