The event on April 26th is taking place at Sursock Museum at 8pm. It will consist of the screening of Mohanad Yaqubi's "R21 AKA RESTORING SOLIDARITY (2022)." This film serves as an addition to and reflection on a collection of twenty 16mm films preserved in Tokyo by the Japanese solidarity movement with Palestine. It explores an undelivered solidarity letter written by a Japanese activist, lost on its way to a Palestinian filmmaker. Fragments of the letter are discovered throughout the collection and compiled into an imagined structure that unfolds during the film.

This screening marks the first time the film will be shown in Lebanon and will be followed by a virtual conversation with the filmmaker via Zoom.
