RASAEL
ScènesDu 20/09/2024 à 20:30 jusqu'au 21/09/2024 à 22:00
This performance traverses the sounds of villages, cities, bodies, and myths, from South Lebanon to Palestine. It centers on motherhood—a mother living an ordinary life in a village, whose son is arrested during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. She joins other women from her village and neighboring villages, all dreaming of crossing borders to bring their sons back. Their voices resonate through history, echoing the past, present, and future. The performance also profoundly explores the theme of love—love for the land, love for family, and the deep, unwavering love of a mother for her son. This theme is interwoven throughout the narrative, highlighting the sacrifices made in the name of love and the hope that it brings even in the darkest times. This show is named after Zahi Wehbe's mother, Rasael, and is inspired by her personal experience.
