The Strings of Hope Mentoring Program is a collaborative project between  Les Musicales de Baabdath, the Goethe-Institut Libanon, the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, and members of the Deutsche Symphony Orchester (DSO): Adele Bitter (cellist), Elena Rindler (violinist), Susanne Linder (violist), Holger Groschopp (pianist), and Clemens Linder (violin).

The aim of the program is to initiate advanced Lebanese students and young professionals to the art and techniques of European and German Chamber Music by strengthening their skills in performing a varied pedagogical repertoire in several small formations.

Conceived by the Goethe-Institut Libanon and its partners as a sustainable yearly program, the 2023 edition of the project was carried out through an open call for musicians. 14 candidates were selected by a jury.

The mentoring program consists in a 10-day intensive workshop and stage performance sessions delivered in-person to the selected young candidates at the premises of the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music in Beirut, whereby the Goethe-Institut Libanon invites the German mentors for a 2-week stay in Lebanon.
