TAMARA QADDOUMI IN CONCERT
Musique02/05/2024 de 21:00 à 23:00
After a first successful European Tour, Tamara Qaddoumi brings her Cold Pop to Station Beirut on May 2, 2024
Recorded, mixed and co-produced by Fadi Tabbal at Beirut's Tunefork Studio, Tamara Qaddoumi's EP "Sorry Signal" (co-written and produced by Antonio Hajj), released on March 15, 2024, processes death and grief through its electronics, synthesizing silver linings and graceful insights to arrive at a certain peace. Its sleek and innovative Cold Pop sound, rife with emotional articulations, highlights the complex dynamic between man and machine. Inspired by hospital environments, cold and sterile atmospheres are animated with suggestive guitars, emphatic synths, and heady lyrics.
“Sorry Signal” is Tamara Qaddoumi’s appeal to signs of life, a tempestuous inquest into an emptiness that pleads for any hint of what might remain – be it hope, truth, or ruin.
Tamara Qaddoumi’s hybrid Kuwaiti, Palestinian, Lebanese and Scottish upbringing weaves conscious questions and discoveries around identity and belonging into her repertoire. Since 2018, she has released three EPs and several videos, been featured in Marie Claire, Vogue, and Bazaar as well as in Berlin based KALTBLUT magazine, regularly gracing Lebanon’s stages with her band. "Sorry Signal" is yet another manifestation of Tamara Qaddoumi's immense talent as an artist and a songwriter. In September of 2024, her first vinyl “The Murmur” will be released, via Augsburg (Germany) based Young & Cold Records.
"How does Cold Wave from the Middle East sound like? Tamara Qaddoumi will set it out at her concert in ONO Bern. In short: it sounds excellent!" Ane Hebeisen, Der Bund, Switzerland.
In April of 2024, Tamara Qaddoumi toured in Europe for the first time, playing eight concerts in Germany and Switzerland. Her concert at Station Beirut on May 2, 2024, will be Tamara’s homecoming show, of some sorts. She will be accompanied by Antonio Hajj (bass), Georgy Flouty (guitar) and Ayman Zebdawi (drums).
