Samar Baltaji, the one-legged mother in the photograph, is shown with her  daughter, Nisrine, as they walk through a war-torn landscape in Beirut. In June 1985, during the war in the Palestinian camps of Sabra & Chatila, Maher Attar captured an image that immediately launched his international career.
