Christian Perdix

In 2013 he was awarded the Franc-Vila-Prize and held a studio scholarship at das weisse haus in Vienna, Austria. With a grant from the Austrian Federal Chancellery, he realized his first institutional exhibition at FAIT Gallery, Brno (CZ) in 2016. Most recent exhibitions include ZAK - Zentrum für Aktuelle Kunst and Galerie Kornfeld, Berlin (D), Kunstraum Potsdam (D), Kunstverein Tiergarten and Centrum Berlin (D), Haus Wittgenstein, Vienna (A).

“My aim is to translate our present time into painterly documents, thus to preserve it for later times and future people. In doing so, I am circling three subject areas that I find particularly striking for our time: environment, politics, terrorism. I forge visually appealing images that allow for repair and restructure and serve as evidence of complex day-to-day struggles. Like a journalistic duty of care, I sleuth for unknown facts and realities kept secret, mingled and merged with universal symbols. I cherish reflections leading to conversations, that lead to gain in knowledge. New associations are made manifest, influencing our regular actions.”

Ksenia Dermenzhi

Ksenia Dermenzhi, a young artist, is a representative of Modern Expressionism. Born in Moldova, with Bulgarian roots, Ksenia has developed creative activity in her own country and in London. In 2019 she graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Art and Cinema in Chisinau, majoring in easel painting. Earlier, she graduated from Colledge Al. Plamadeala majoring in easel painting as well.

In her works, a deep palette of colors is intertwined with the unusual texture of paint cover, in which she skillfully combines abstract and physical forms, contrasting pasty spots with graphic elements. Her images are borderline with fiction and reality; the contrast of textures and colors creates additional strength and depth into which the viewer can immerse with their personal feelings and fantasies.

Yosuke Ueno

Yosuke Ueno is a self-taught Japanese artist, working in the style of pop surrealism. Born in Japan in 1977, he has been creating his unique and colorful world since his early age, and as a result Ueno’s first solo exhibition was in 1994 in Yamaguchi, when he was just 16 years old.

Yosuke Ueno’s art is inspired by a combination of many elements - from traditional Japanese culture, Tokyo’s street fashion, to great artworks all over the world. As an art lover, he admires masterpieces from history of art by reproducing them in his own style, such as the Johannes Vermeer’s famous painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Yosuke Ueno’s highly stylized and beautifully imaginative art takes the viewer on a strange and surreal adventure, to a world inhabited by weird and beautiful animals, characters and creatures. While creating, he starts his new piece without any detailed design. He allows his paintings to evolve intuitively, not knowing what the end result will be. As a process of discovery and a sort of therapy, he hopes the painting will complete itself, beyond his guidance and imagination. This becomes clear in his following quote:

“When I am working, I get to the point where I can’t even imagine the outcome, and then suddenly see a brand-new, beautiful path. I sometimes say that artists are parallel to scientists. Scientists have no way of knowing the result of an experiment beforehand. The same can be said about creating art”
